Where Carpe Care began
While supporting people with epilepsy in residential care during the Covid-19 pandemic, our founder repeatedly encountered incidents where clinicians requested further information that care teams simply could not provide. Carpe Care was created to bridge that gap.
We believe carers and clinicians deserve better information to enable faster decision-making, better coordination, and improved outcomes.

Founder Anna O'Gara worked for a residential care provider, gaining insight into care data and hands-on experience supporting people with epilepsy during the Covid-19 pandemic
Concept for Carpe Care developed at the Care Innovation Challenge with support from experts within the sector
Carpe Care begins its first mini-pilot using body-worn cameras, validating the concept with real-world evidence and working directly with users
Through the CHI-Zone CareTech Programme, we explored workflows alongside adult social care testbed members and technical approaches with the Virtual Engineering Centre
The Carpe Care journey
Our mission
We want people with neurological conditions and the people around them to have deeper insight into their condition, and for them to be more connected with their clinicians through objective evidence.
Our vision
We want people with neurological conditions get the right treatment every time because their care teams have the technology to keep hands and minds free to care, and clinicians have the insight to act.
Why now?
Advancements in wearable technology, cloud storage, and remote clinical working make it possible to capture and review neurological events in ways that were previously not possible. Carpe Care brings these technologies together in a system designed specifically for care environments.
